Dundee: Carol A. Cooper, age 76. of Dundee, NY passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 in the comfort of her home.
Born on April 9, 1950, in Penn Yan, New York, Carol lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of others. She had a remarkable ability to see the best in people, even when they could not see it in themselves. This gift made her not only a cherished friend and family member, but also an exceptional nurse.
Carol dedicated her career to caring for others as a home care nurse, providing outstanding service and comfort to patients throughout multiple counties. Her commitment to her profession and the genuine compassion she showed to those in her care left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Carol's legacy lives on in the countless acts of kindness she shared, the lives she improved through her nursing care, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the profound difference she made in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, Linda Cooper: her children, Kristen (John) Duran, Anna (Amanda) Slack, Willy (Amy) Grant and Jimmy (Courtney) Grant; and her beloved grandchildren, Bryan, Carter, Londyn, Jay, Elle, James, Kali, Alyssa, Zach, and Brighton.
In keeping with Carol's belief that family is defined by love rather than blood alone, she will also be deeply missed by Naomi, Cooper, Bethy, Rosie, Judy, Tom, Debbie, J.P.; and many other friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.
Carol was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Margaret and Charles Manning; her father, Maynard Cooper; her sister, Jean Pelton; and dear friends whom she considered family, Alice Mosher and Cindy Yarrington.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Paula and Heather Hilligus for the loving care, comfort, and support they provided to Carol. Their kindness and devotion meant so much to her and her family, and they will forever be considered family.
Friends are invited to calling hours from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday June 12 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral service will be held at 1 1:00 a.m. Saturday June 13, with Ms. Donna Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Mount Cemetery, Himrod.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Rainbow Junction Childcare Center, 226 Keuka St., Penn Yan, NY 14527; in appreciation of the exceptional care and support they have provided to Carol's beloved granddaughter, Londyn.
